Missing notes become a low score
Missing notes are not evidence of missing ability. Otto converts a fictional panel’s interview records into a comparison table. A recording failed during one candidate’s exercise, so the empty section receives the lowest score. Ollie sees that the panel is about to compare a documentation failure with other candidates’ observed work.
Why it looked good
Every cell has a number, so the table appears comparable. A failure to capture evidence has become a judgment about the candidate.
Q1 · What is this really for?
What do we know from observed work, and which part of this assessment is still unknown?
Q2 · Who decides, and did they?
Who decides how to address missing evidence, and have they approved a consistent way to fill the gap?
The next move
Ollie changes the unsupported score to “Evidence missing” and asks Casey to choose a consistent follow-up before comparing that criterion.
