Q, the yellow two-question guide, waving hello.

AI at work · fictional workplace scenes

The quick question hides a new task

Dana sends Ollie a quick question before their 1:1. Otto turns it into a polished answer with a promise to rebuild the whole presentation. Dana only needed one fact for a meeting. The reply sounds helpful, but it creates new work that displaces the review Ollie had already agreed to finish.

Why it looked good

A complete presentation feels like a generous answer. The promise expands the work before either person has established what the question needs.

Q1 · What is this really for?

What decision will Dana make with the answer, and how much information does that decision need?

Q2 · Who decides, and did they?

Who can change the agreed review priority, and have they approved this extra presentation work?

The next move

Ollie answers the needed fact first and brings any larger presentation request to Dana as a separate priority choice.
