US Letter PDF (276 KB)

A4 PDF (280 KB)

Print and pair the cards

Each PDF has 10 pages: 5 pairs of nine-up fronts and matching backs. The last pair may have empty slots.

  1. Choose A4 or US Letter paper to match the PDF. Print at Actual size / 100%, with fit-to-page off.
  2. For duplex, use portrait orientation and flip on the long edge. Each front page is immediately followed by its back page; back columns are mirrored. Print pages 1-2 first and hold them to the light to check your printer’s alignment.
  3. A cut border should measure 2.5 × 3⅓ inches (63.5 × 84.7 mm). Cut along the shared gray borders only after the alignment check. A4 needs about 9.8 mm side margins; Letter needs 0.5-inch margins.
  4. If duplex alignment is poor, print single-sided, cut separately, then match the same number on each front and back in an opaque sleeve. Leave empty slots unpaired.

Take a turn

  1. Read the trap side without looking at the back.
  2. Ask Q1: “What is this really for?” and Q2: “Who decides, and did they?” in words that fit the scene.
  3. Turn the card over. Compare with its scenario and two suggested questions; other useful questions are welcome.
  4. Name one next step and the person who needs to confirm it. Take turns reading, questioning and observing.

Keep the practice fictional. If an answer is missing, say “unknown.” A suggestion is not an approval. About this practice.
