One name on the report: a branching scenario
A shared report lists a sole author, and you think the credit is wrong. Choose what to say, ask for the missing half, and see where each path ends. Three ways in, six endings.
Fictional practice case: Credit Repair. Dana is a fictional role, the report owner is only mentioned, and Otto is a fictional AI writing assistant. Your choices stay on this page and are not saved or sent anywhere. After an ending where you asked something, “Try again with what you now know” keeps the answers you asked for in a list at the top, labeled as learned earlier, and starts a fresh run.
Numbers and quotes come from the free "Credit Repair" case: the shared report lists a sole author (one name), the contribution record says Alex prepared the analysis, Jo validated the data and shared attribution was agreed (two names), and only the report owner can change the shared report. Otto here is a fictional AI writing assistant, not a claim about any real AI product. Each ending can skip ahead to the moment a future reader opens the report, the case's own words for a later moment (it gives no day or time); that part uses only the case's arithmetic, its own listed plausible consequences and what was said on your path, and says what the case does not give. A correction stays a request until the report owner makes it, and the case gives no motive for the sole-author label.
About this practice

- Teaches: Ask for the shared report to be corrected from the recorded contributions, and check who saw the old version.
- Does not claim: A fictional case, and Otto is a fictional AI. One run is not a verdict, and no outcome is measured.
- For: Anyone who thinks the credit on a shared report is wrong and has not yet checked the record.

Where to go next
- Next case: Fixed Deadline. From looking back at who did the work to looking ahead at a date: a time that cannot move and a plan that has to fit it.
- Guide: How to repair incorrect shared credit in a work report. A short, plain read on repairing a credit line in a shared report, with this same case worked out, so read it after you have played.
- Tool: 1:1 agenda. List what is open, the fact you hold and where it came from, then copy a plain agenda for the conversation.
Ask the questions yourself.
Play the same case as a solo game: ask Dana or Otto, reveal the missing facts and write your next-step card.
